The goal of the Linklatch General Directory is to provide a directory service that only provides urls to high quality content websites. Sites containing no ads will be given a strong preference over those that contain too much irrelevant advertising unless the ads (number of ads must be reasonable) linked to that website are useful and related to the website itself. The ads themselves must not be links to other websites that contain questionable content and spam. Web design layout of the content itself is also important when submitting to a directory. Just like a library system we want this directory to be orderly, neat, clean and efficient. This step is a high priority so that this directory itself can have a strong reputation for being accurate and reliable.
Many webmasters rely on affiliate sites and advertising as a source of revenue. Google adsense is fine as long as it is not excessive. Adsense will normally place ads on sites that are in relation to the site itself. Google adsense also has number limitations of advertising that can be utilized on each website and or pages of the website. Affiliate websites are okay if they are legitimate businesses. Again this is within reason. The web layout of the site and page loading are crucial to success of the directory itself. There should also be no broken links within a site.
